of Women in the Wind

I have been riding anything with a motor since I can remember-started with snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, dune buggies etc. My very first bike was a Honda VTX 1300 in ORANGE!  It was a really awesome color but to me something was missing, well I found that something in October of 2007 my 2006 Sporty 1200 Custom!  Bought it on my best friends birthday- hence the song "Happy Birthday to me Debba finally got a Harley!"   However in March of 2009 came my very favorite motor my 96 cubic inch V-Twin!   A 2009 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide!  AKA -  "Sweet N Nasty Girl"

I love to ride where ever the pavement takes me-  Remember- May your pipes be loud and Ride Safe!

Her beautiful new ride ... Sweet'n Nasty Girl, an '09 Street Glide!

One day in 2002 my brother asked me if I wanted to take the beginners motorcycle course.  I said sure why the BEEP not, that will let me know if I like riding a motorcycle. Took the course in the fall of 2002 loved it, passed it (hate test) and then ordered my first bike (2003 Anniversary Harley 1200C Sportster).  I got my motorcycle April of 2003.  What a nice 30th birthday present to myself.  I have been riding ever since.  I can not get enough of it.   One of the things that the instructor told me was to not ride in the rain till I have a year of riding under by belt.  So what do I do, in October 2003 take a ride to ME.  The ride there ended up raining all day and night and it took us 9-10 hours to get there when should have been only 5-6 hours.  Way to break myself in.  My longest ride would have to be Kansas City, MO.  I just got back from WITW Summer Nationals.  Had a great time.

Riding a 1200 Harley-Davidson Sportster!

I started riding only two years ago at age 43.  My daughter left home and I knew I had to do something just for me.  I wanted it to be wild and fun.  People who knew me at the time would NEVER have thought of me as a biker!  But, two weeks after she moved out, I saw a Honda Rebel, realized that I could touch the groud, realized how I wanted to be a Rebel - so I bought my first motorcycle, a Honda Rebel!!

The rebel that I felt I was becoming was feeling really good on me.  Riding a motorcycle made me feel powerful and independent.  I LOVED riding!  My husband was getting jealous so we had to get him one too.  It wasnt too long after that that I decided if I was going to go through a mid life crisis and get a motorcycle, I really should get the motorcycle that I really wanted.  SO, a few months later I traded in my Rebel for a Harley and have been riding in the wind ever since!
